Preserve and Expand Your Interests. Join the Renewable Energy Coalition.
The Renewable Energy Coalition (Coalition) is seeking new members to join in the Coalition in the next fiscal year and beyond. This is the first time since its founding in 2009 that this action has been pursued. The Coalition has expanded and now covers the service areas of six large Northwest and Rocky Mountain west private utilities in the states of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah and Washington. We recognize the need to diversify our membership to keep pace with the rapidly developing technological and political climate in the energy industry. This expansion reflects a desire to diversify our membership both geographically and technologically. It is the Coalition’s aim to attract and retain members who understand that the efforts we are engaged in are long-term in nature to fully align with the useful life of most small-scale project technologies.
The Coalition’s primary goal is preserving and enhancing the interests of small independent power producers, protecting the survivability of existing projects, and encouraging the development of new independent energy projects. While the Coalition’s work is generally focused on state and federal PURPA regulation, we remain active in providing all forms of support for projects to develop, sell, and/or utilize power production. In order to continue the ongoing successes of the Coalition and its members we must be active on the ground and engaged in many long-term efforts.
